On August 11,ProfessorGary Barberfrom Oakland University visited ZZULI and conducted exchanges and communication regarding the preparations for running theZZULI-OU Intelligent Engineering Joint Institute(the“Joint Institute”). The meeting was held in Meeting Room 313 at No. 2 Teaching Building. Attendees included Jin Nan, Dean oftheJoint Institute, Meng Li, Fu Zhijun, and He Ning, Vice Deans of theJoint Institute, and relevant heads ofdepartments.

DeanJinfirstextended a warm welcome toProfessorBarber’s visit,expressing his gratitude for the efforts made by Oakland University in the operational preparation of the Joint Institute. Afterwards, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the enrollment,talenttraining program,teaching staff teams, detailsin theteaching management,and the crucial points that may challenge the operation of the Joint Institute.During the meeting,ProfessorBarber further introduced the accreditation system and requirementsof theABETaccreditationand put forward constructive solutions. Pooling collective wisdom, the two sides thoroughly exchanged views andfinallyreached a consensuson the issues discussed.In addition,theyformulated the future work plan.

As arepresentative of the American side, ProfessorBarberhas been intensively engaging in all the work since the application for the establishment of theJoint Institute. The two sideshave actively coordinatedwith,facilitated,and complemented each other, constantly improvingallthe operationalaspectsof the Joint Institute,therebyensuring the orderly and efficient progress of relevant work.
